With travel to international book fairs still off the cards for many people, the Australian Publishers Association is hosting four digital networking events for rights professionals, with support from the Australia Council for the Arts.
These events, held via Zoom in September and November, will include panel discussions on key markets and rights opportunities, alongside smaller roundtables on specific categories.
The first two events are scheduled for 1 and 6 September:
1 September, 9am AEST - US Market Update
Gain insight into the latest US market trends through a panel discussion with prominent US publishers and literary agents, moderated by Nerrilee Weir, former Senior Rights Manager at Penguin Random House Australia.
6 September, 6pm AEST - Roundtable on YA with a focus on BookTok
Focussing on selling into the UK and European markets, this roundtable will be an opportunity for those working in YA to connect with UK and European colleagues and learn about the impact of BookTok. Places are limited.
Two further events will be held in November with details to follow in the APA newsletter and on the website.
- Free for staff of APA member companies
- Free for staff of Australian Literary Agents’ Association member companies
