The APA welcomed the opportunity to respond to the Productivity Commission's interim reports:

Building a Skilled and Adaptable Workforce Submission

The APA’s submission raised concerns about proposals for centralised lesson banks, warning they could undermine quality, diversity, and long-term investment in educational publishing. Alongside the Copyright Agency, we also expressed strong concerns about the expansive ambitions of the Curriculum Advisory Group (CAG), urging for policies that support sustainable and diverse learning resources.

Harnessing Data and Digital Technology Submission

The APA’s submission outlined the significant risks associated with the proposed Text and Data Mining (TDM) exception and comparative workability of licensing. This important submission was made in close collaboration with the International Publishers Association (IPA), STM, IFRRO, the Copyright Agency, and the ASA – with additional support from the UK Publishers Association.
