Publishers can now improve their supply chain efficiency and enhance title discoverability with the launch of the TitlePage data quality reporting program and dashboards.
This program offers weekly reports and dashboards, providing actionable insights to optimise metadata and availability information. These insights will help ensure that your data is accurate, up to date, and supports better visibility and smoother operations across the book market. The reports and dashboards focus on a selection of key metadata fields that offer a snapshot of your data's overall quality.
Initial feedback from publishers on the reporting has been positive, with Penguin Random House product director Kate Hoy saying:
‘The new TitlePage data quality reports offer a practical way to quickly spot and resolve metadata issues more efficiently, enhancing the quality of our data and supporting the success of our titles.
Streamlining our metadata management not only benefits our publishing process, but also supports booksellers in delivering our titles to a wider audience. It's a win-win for both publishers and booksellers alike.’
Why metadata quality matters
Rich and accurate metadata drives the discoverability for your titles. Whether it’s for bookshops, libraries, or readers, having rich, detailed data ensures that your books are found and ordered without any friction. The new reports and dashboards highlight areas needing improvement, so you can act quickly to maintain an efficient supply chain and provide reliable data to your partners - contributing to the overall health of Australia’s book supply chain.
For now, we’re rolling out the beta phase to publishers providing ONIX feeds to TitlePage. Publishers relying on manual updates will receive reports in the subsequent phase.
