The first Australian Publishing Industry Workforce Survey on Diversity and Inclusion provides a snapshot of the publishing industry in Australia, and adds to an emerging pool of similar research from the UK, USA and around the world.

Published on 31 August 2022, and featuring survey data from 989 respondents, the report contains demographic data on the makeup of the Australian publishing workforce. The data in the report will be used as a benchmark for future surveys, to track progress towards a more diverse and inclusive sector.

The survey authors are Susannah Bowen and Beth Driscoll from the University of Melbourne and the survey is co-sponsored by Australian Publishers Association and University of Melbourne.
